It’s Spring and the leaves are coming out nicely thank you. Whilst walking with my wife amongst the bluebells in the Micheldever Woods I was struck by how green and fragile the fresh beech leaves were.  Perfect, as I remarked to my technician on Monday, for grinding up for chromatography.

So, Topic 6 of the Edexcel course is about plants and how they work.  The new GCSE courses are ridiculously heavy on content so it’s nice to find lots of practicals to help the students engage and enjoy their learning.
